Army Stew

Army Stew or Budae Jjigae is one of those things in Korea that you just have to try. Somewhere along the way, someone decided it would be a good thing to incorporate Spam and little hot dogs into a stew.(Budae is the word for military base in Korean) This history of this stew goes way back to the Korean War when a restaurant owner decided to make it with the surplus meats from the U.S. Military base. Basically everything gets thrown into a pan and liquid is added along with ramen or some other type of noodle and it is cooked at your table over a gas flame. This is a pretty popular stew in Korea with restaurants that specialize in just this. Nolboo is a nice little restaurant in Ipark Mall where you can try it for yourself.
