One of my favorite places to eat in Seoul, South Korea is Michelin star awarded, Din Tai Fung. This place is ranked as one of the world’s Top 10 Best Restaurants by The New York Times, and also by my husband who is a fairly picky eater (although he refuses to admit it). One of my old neighbors in Las Vegas is from Taipei and when I posted this place on Facebook she was the first to inform me that this restaurant originated in Taipei. I learned it started as a cooking oil retail shop in the 50’s, and transitioned to a full fledged restaurant in 1972. The original Din Tai Fung has been around for a very long time which has significance in my book. If you are looking for amazing soup dumplings and noodles, this place is it. I would recommend the Crab meat Xiaolongbao dumplings and the Fried Rice with Egg and Crab meat with XO sauce for sure! If you are in Seoul you have no excuse not to eat here, there are 4 locations around town. My favorite is in Myeongdong but it’s a little tricky to find. It’s located on the 2nd floor of Hotel 28.
